Senior Software Engineer


Description

The Senior Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems.

  • Serves as the technical lead of multiple software development teams
  • Selects the software development process in coordination with the customer and system engineering
  • Recommends new technologies and processes for complex software projects
  • Ensures quality control of all developed and modified software
  • Delegates programming and testing responsibilities to one or more teams and monitor their performance processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements
  • Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment
  • Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of COTS/GOTS in place of new development, and requirements analysis from system level to individual software components


Requirements

Qualifications include:

  • 7-10 years of experience as a software engineer supporting software architecture development, requirements analysis, process execution and evaluation, selection and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools, and integration (with both new and legacy systems)
  • Additionally the candidate should have experience in web-application development, and one or more of the following computer languages C,C++, PYTHON, JAVA, and J2EE
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics or similar degree and meet the experience requirements; or equivalent documented combination of training and experience. Equivalent experience examples are: an Associate's Degree, military training, NCS classes, commercially provided training, or demonstrable program experience and an additional two years experience in this or similar labor category
